The importance of audience research:

 

• Check narrative is understood

• Find out audiences reaction (like/dislike)

• Pinpoint target audience (is it the same?)

• See if reshooting/reediting is needed

• Reassure filmmakers of their skills

• Encourage filmmakers to improve specific skills

• Check progression of filmmakers (especially if target group has seen previous products)
