Final Screenings

Here are some audience responses to the final short film. This is the production that we are not changing, but it is good to gauge what has worked in the end and to see if the critical comments made in previous audience research have been appeased. If big problems had not been sorted out, or if new issues arose then we would still have the time to fix them. Without a final screening we wouldn't know if our final product is understood and enjoyed by our audience, as well as seeing finally who our target audience is. Since the last audience research we have possibly broadened our target audience as it has now been made easier to understand, so a larger amount of people can connect with our short film. I found out that the film was much better understood, however one of the comments regarding the smoking scenes breaking up and slowing the film down was very useful, as I could avoid slowing down the narrative so much in future films. However, another comment from my audience research shows one boy I interviewed enjoyed the contrast between the smoking scenes and the other sequences. This just remindsme you cannot please everyone, but that is okay. Even the older audience member I showed it too understood and enjoyed it, showing it could be branded to an older audience too, she agreed with this saying that 'teenager films are interesting to everyone, because everyone was a teen once'. She even comments on the use of the film by an older audience to help understand the youth of today, and interesting angle that I may not have realised without this interview.
