Projection Testing

Beth and I had been thinking about experimenting with projection for a while. We wanted to try it out before we decided, the place we would most likely use it is in the after party scene in a bed. We took an example photo to practise with but we would use our own image if we decided to go through with it. At first we were very impressed, as you can tell my the top photo it is almost like an image on its own. What I really really liked was that because the projection was wider than camera shot I could actually pan a little bit through the room, bringing in a completely different dimention. As you can see at the bottom of the shot we had a table our actress could lay on.
The image did change drastically when a person was added as the projection hit at different depths. For example, the shoulder would have an image that was further down as it was closer to the projector. Another difficulty we had was the different colours the actor was wearing. This distorted the image as the strenght of the projection differed. We tried a new different positionings of the photo to make it look as if the actor was in the right place. We also changed the ISO to make the image lighter and darker and found using the flash completely removed the projection, proving that it needs to be dark to work.
